Salmon Fly Fishing in Scotland. The River Tay is the largest Scottish Salmon River – the home of salmon. The River Tay is known as one of the big four of salmon fishing rivers in Scotland and is internationally renowned as one of the finest salmon fishing rivers in the UK. There are over forty different salmon fishing beats on the River Tay. Trout fishing in the Upper Tay is excellent at times. The Tay system also has big grayling. The salmon fishing season on the River Tay and the Tay tributaries starts on the 15th of January and ends on the 15th of October although the season could be extended on some Lower beats until the 31st of October albeit catch and release only.

We provide salmon fishing trips and salmon fishing holidays on one of the finest salmon fishing rivers in Scotland, the Tay. Unlike many professional salmon fishing guides we are not tied to an individual beat or fishery and all of our salmon fishing trips or Spey Casting lessons take place on the top ten most productive salmon fishing beats of The Tay, providing us and our clients with the finest salmon fishing the River Tay has to offer.

This is an excellent opportunity for the seasoned salmon angler to experience a varied and unique salmon fishing trip. For anyone new to salmon fishing or Spey casting this is a great introduction to the world of Scottish salmon fishing. This style of casting with a double handed salmon fishing rod was called Speycasting, as it is thought to have been developed on the River Spey in Scotland. We will provide you with Speycasting lessons and an in depth course on salmon fishing. We also provide all of the fishing tackle required, safety vests and waders. We cater for individuals or groups. B&B accommodation and airport transfers can also be arranged.

We believe in teaching you the correct techniques from the very start, and how to avoid picking up any bad casting habits which could take you years to rectify in the future. We offer a one day introductory Spey casting course which will concentrate mainly on teaching you how to Speycast correctly, and a more in depth salmon fishing course over a few days, which will include how to read the river and spot the pools; rod, reel and fly selection; and how to hook, play and successfully land a salmon.

Our team are well versed in putting together a salmon fishing trip to suit your personal requirements, level of experience and style of fishing. We will advise you on the best line and flies to match the beat and conditions of the day, show you the holding pools and how to fish them and will be on hand at all times to provide as much or as little advice as you might need, and of course help net, land and photograph any fish you catch.

Baltic Salmon Fly Fishing in Lithuania. There are about 3000 rivers and rivulets flowing in Lithuania but only 18 of them are longer than 100 km, 733 hardly exceed 10 km in length. The grayling and brown trout are two of the most beautiful species of fresh water fish in our waters. They live in the rivers of the south east of the country – Neris, Žeimena, Merkys, Ūla, Salčia, Gauja, Veknė and others. It is a wonderful group of rivers with cold water and impetuous black-waters. Most of the rivers are fed by springs, running through forest land and inhabited by grayling and brown trout. In autumn the rivers are a very good place for Baltic salmon and sea trout. Local wild populations of fish prevail in the rivers because the Lithuanian rivers are not stocked with artificially bred grayling and brown trout.

The Lithuanian history of fly-fishing isn’t very old, as it has only been known in the country for 100 years. Nevertheless, there exist some local traditions and original fishing flies. The first Lithuanian book on fishing called “Fishing Sport” by V.Goštautas was published in 1939, and the author mentions fly-fishing and presents a short description. There were very few articles on fly-fishing published in our country during the years of Soviet power, and it is only for the last 20 years that fly-fishing has become increasingly popular.

Let us help you discover the fantastic fly fishing available in our rivers in Lithuania and share with you those secret secluded places that only a local could know about. Learn the secrets of just where and how to catch large grayling, trout or Baltic salmon from experienced, local professional Fly Fishing Guides. You will enjoy some of the most wonderful nature and river views Lithuania has to offer. We also provide all of the fishing tackle required, safety vests and waders. We cater for individuals or groups. B&B accommodation and airport transfers can also be arranged.
